The company was established purely as an investment company by the employees and partners of Stor-Oslo Eiendom. The company invests mainly in property development projects in which Stor-Oslo Prosjekt and Stor-Oslo Management play an active role. Stor-Oslo Invest aims primarily to invest together with other investors targeting property development projects,  obtaining ownership stakes of between 5 and 20 per cent, depending on the volume of the project.

The company was founded in 2009 in connection with the restructuring of Stor-Oslo Eiendom. Approximately 25 million NOK was invested into the new company. As at June 30 2010, the net asset value of the company was 33 million NOK. The company will increase the equity base with approximately 20 million NOK in Q1, 2011, through a share issue to the employees of the Stor-Oslo Eiendom. This will provide a sound basis for further investments in current and future projects.

The company is managed by Stor-Oslo Management and will through that company exercise active ownership in the underlying investment companies, seeking to achieve maximum rate of return.
